Orienteering is a sporting discipline based on completing a course from control point to control point, guiding yourself with a map and a compass.
The most practised discipline. It consists of completing a route on foot in the shortest possible time while visiting all the points represented on the map.
Shorter distance trial usually held in urban environments. It prioritises explosive speed over the endurance required in other events.
Similar to the rogaine, but the participant must travel by mountain bike. This means that the movement will take place along tracks or paths that are more or less cyclable.
Team competition of 2-5 people. The route is open, each control point has a point value and the objective is to achieve the maximum score within the set time limit (6-8 hours).
Like Rogaine, it is a team competition with a free route. It is distributed across several stages on foot, by bicycle, or in other activities (kayaking, climbing...). Its duration is usually a day and a half, or more.
The perfect discipline for practising adapted sport, they are designed to allow participation in a wheelchair. Competitors pass through a number of control points marked on the terrain. Using the map and with the help of a compass, they choose the correct one.
